This is a term used for health in the breeding of two different breeds of the same species. People have experimented with this for thousands of years.
This is the reason we have as many different breeds of dogs, cats, horses, cattle and other as we have today.This term relates to more vigorus, healthy, robust animals.

The problem with most purebreeds today is that we have hundreds of genetic and health issues that make our purebreeds more suceptable to health issues  and living a less than full lifespan. Hopefully by crossbreeding we can help to change this in some small way.
