Why are the two different spellings listed for this cross breed?

MALTEPOO OR MALTIPOO ?
To register a cross breed you have to register with a club. There are many different clubs out there but the 2 main ones that accept cross-breeds are CKC and DRA. At this point in time, each has a different spelling for the cross of Maltipoo or Maltepoo, however, both clubs are referring to the deliberate cross-breeding of the Maltese and the Poodle.

For now and until we can decide on the proper name we use them both. Eventually, we will apply to all registeries that accept or register this cross and ask them to only use the proper spelling.

Because this cross-breed is fairly new and there is no official correct spelling, you will find many other spellings out there, such as maltapoo, mal-t-poo,multipoo and malti-poo or any other spelling of it . None are correct or even a proper use of the two as a cross.

Please do not be fooled. Either Maltipoo or Maltepoo is the correct spelling and we will not accept any other as proper or even usable.
